Skin cancers encompass squamous cell carcinoma, basal cell carcinoma, melanoma, and several other more rare variants. Non-melanoma skin cancers (ie squamous cell cancer and basal cell cancer) are typically only locally aggressive - meaning it is uncommon, though not impossible, for them to spread. Melanoma is a more aggressive type. We recommend our patients to consider a baseline skin exam, especially if there is a family history, with regular followup customize to each patient thereafter.

    Our Approach

Surgery and skin cancer can be intimidating and a little scary. Our goal is to make the process as smooth, comfortable, and safe as possible. For most skin cancers, we are able to treat them in the comfort of our office using local anesthetic. In instances where further specialty services are required (mohs surgery, oncology, or other), we work to coordinate a referral and coordination of care.
