Fillers FAQs

  • Each filler has unique characteristics. Duration will depend on multiple factors including location, patient, age and the product selected. Some fillers will last 9-12 months while others can last >2 years.

  • Bruising and swelling are most common. Rarely, filler can become lodged in or near a blood vessel (also known as a vascular occlusion). Expertise in these situation is paramount as early intervention is necessary to avert longterm effects. Thankfully, Dapper Dermatology is always prepared for these rare instances.

  • We recommend avoiding alcohol, aspirin, and fatty acid supplements, and other blood thinning items 48 hours prior to your appointment (do not discontinue blood thinners being used to prevent life threatening health problems or that are under the direction of your neurologist or cardiologist). After treatment, bruising and swelling are common.
